Graeme Campbell returns to the podcast to reflect on his remarkable 12-month journey from freelancer to co-founder of Agentary, a successful real estate marketing agency. He's ticked off major goals—purchasing a Porsche, buying a house, and exceeding his ambitious revenue targets—validating his philosophy of setting "optimistically unrealistic" goals.
The business has transformed dramatically, merging with Sam to create a proper agency with a team of six (soon seven), an office with a podcast studio, and full-service capabilities. Their biggest challenge has shifted from delivering work themselves to building and managing a team that maintains their high standards—a completely different skill set from the 16-17 hour days they previously worked.
Looking ahead, Graeme plans to expand Agentary to Melbourne, Queenstown and beyond, potentially doubling their headcount within a year. He emphasises the importance of personal branding for business growth, noting how it attracts both clients and talent. The improved work-life balance has allowed him to focus more on fitness and travel, with several trips planned.
When asked about the most crucial entrepreneurial characteristic, Graeme highlights "optimistic unrealism"—the ability to set seemingly impossible goals and then work relentlessly to achieve them, backed by the unwavering belief that success is inevitable.
