Buying property, new Podcast name, new Sponsors, Health Journey, TAC Launches

Each week I'm going to write about something I've learned or have been working on as well as some highlights

Happy Monday All,

It's been a while since I've sent a "weekly" email newsletter.

We're getting back into it though. Day of sending to be confirmed but it's happening, we're going back to weekly.

Shoutout to Dave Risdon for prompting me to get back on this and lift our standards.

Since the last email back in July, we've changed the podcast name and logo.

There's also been a crazy amount of updates. I've done my best to summarise them below.

Importantly, we have an event Wednesday afternoon with James Wallace. It's the second of the Marketing event we've done in two weeks. Last Wednesday we sold out a breakfast event and I'm really looking forward to Wednesday. We'll sub out the breakfast and coffee for beers and snacks. It's also the first afternoon Education event so get excited!

Tickets here

Highlights (since the last newsletter in July):

  • Emily and I purchased a house
  • Went to Sydney
  • Momentum was a HUGE success, we've already scheduled in a 2026 Momentum event with Early Bird tickets available now
  • We have an Event's Coordinator starting early October
  • We're hiring for a full time content creator at ALT.
  • Podcast changed names to "Across the Table with David Melse" to reflect the content better. $10m in 10 years is still a challenge and still happening but the conversations were general not focused on it (like the early days)
  • Coaching capacity almost reached, 2 more spots available and we'll be running a waitlist until we can increase capacity via additional Coaches
  • New Master Sponsor of the podcast - Welcome to Rosefern Homes
  • The Altitude Collective (Invite only group) has launched with our first event at Black Estate (below)

Summary of the last 2 months (July, August)

Keep Consistency

A lot of the things i've written about or talked about the podcast over the years could be distilled to consistency. The reason why I think about this word today though: Is with reference to results and those wanting a quick win or a rapid turnaround.

It generally doesn't happen. I think there's ways that you can leverage your time and effort but especially when doing things that haven't been done before. it takes time, consistency and effort.

With reference to the fitness and health focus that I've had these last couple of months. I've been generally (I've been say 90%+ Dialled) but that remaining 10% of deviation has cost me progress. I was 99% for the first 2 months and then some cracks started appearing. It can be a slippery slope and mentally it can be tough recentering.

Again, so many of the themes that have come up in the past, continue to be present in the current. The environments and the people you're around. The level of commitment required to make change. It doesn't need to be complicated and in fact. I'd say the best things are the simplest.

To give context on some of the fitness journey. Here's how i've simplified my life so that it's about as easy as it could be in order to hit the daily and weekly targets.

1. Meal prep. Delivered once a week with macros available. This has been a MASSIVE time saver and has helped me staying on track with the 180gram daily protein and the 1900 calories a day target

2. Protein bars and pork crackling at home, work and the car. Easy access to protein

3. Technology to track steps. Whoop band, Apple watch. IHF Membership. Getting to the 20k daily steps average wasn't easy to begin with but after a few weeks it's become the new norm

4. Having Hamish the PT as a trainer. Seeing him twice a week for PT sessions and then getting in a third weights session at IHF

That's basically the model. I still don't have visible abs, I have lost around 5kg in 2 months and my energy hasn't been better. I am happy with the progress and the journey and I feel the cross over and comparison between fitness and business and money has been even more noticable.

It's been challenging at times but it's also been super interesting from a getting to know myself basis. If you're keen to lose some weight, gain muscle or work on your health I'd highly highly recommend the 90 day / quarterly focus on it. Get set up for success, find a friend, simply, get some meal prep, get a trainer, or figure out a way to reduce the chances of failure.

I'll see you back next week, with another update, another point of view and hopefully some value.

Thanks for reading,

David
