What Have I learned:
Take some risks / Nothing really matters
There's a test to apply if you're over thinking something, will this matter in a years time. if not, it probably isn't as a big of a deal as you think it is.
I'm doing my very vest to stop this over thinking and over analysing, acting more, taking more risk and getting busy with the right challenges.
I'd encourage you to the same and apply the same test question.
Having recently looked at my goals for next year and the $10m challenge, it's time to pick up the pace and make more of the amazing resources and community around me.
I'm confident that you'll be able to relate to this, maybe to a small degree, maybe to a higher degree.
Some practical steps for becoming more risk tolerant and leaning into discomfort more:
1. Do something hard every day: That task you've been putting off, a cold shower, that awkward chat. Just do, build that muscle daily.
2. Apply the question of will this matter in the future to determine if something actually warrants the level of time and energy that's going into it
3. Get around people that are taking risk and doing stuff. Again, nothing new here but I believe the rule of the 5 people you spend the most time with applies.
4. Invest in yourself and your business, if you're considering spending money, look at it in terms of it being either an investment or an expense. Will this build my brand and become and asset or is it a waste?
5. Use the tools I've previously mentioned: The Monday Accountability with a friend, the habit tracking dashboard, the goal setting templates. They're all valid tools. They're all free, they're all easy to use so get invovled.
6. Public accountability, put it out there online what you're doing, create that pressure to get stuff done. You don't need to overcomplicate it either. We're weirdly okay with letting ourselves down but not others so get others involved in your goals and future ambitions.
To summarize, uncomfortable tasks are where the growth occurs.
Most things we worry about won't matter in a year or even a few months time so just make a decision "get that monkey off your back" and move forward.
