Paula C4 Coffee, Auckland, DOAC, Limiting Beliefs and Recruitment, Job Hunters
April 23, 2024
Happy Tuesday!
What a beautiful day, sun is shining, birds are chirping, not loving those leaves everywhere but you can't have it all, all the time....
An amazing time was had up in Auckland last week, such a boost of energy being in a larger city + the Steven Bartlett DOAC event exceeded my expectations massively.
So many good takeaways, Emily and I recorded a podcast 115 to debrief on it, as well episode 113 touches on a few points also.
The big one for me was to involve more people in your mission, more staff, more quality vendors, suppliers. Think bigger, don't do it all on your own. I'll elaborate below on some other concepts but I'd say if you get the chance to see him speak or if you haven't listened to any of the Diary of a CEO podcast episodes, give it a look, he's both talented + isn't afraid to put the effort in.

Highlights from last week:
* June Mens Mastery Sponsor Confirmed. Finesse Painting & Decorating - Peter Dalman. What a legend!
* Podcast in Auckland with Stanley from the Attention Seeker, great chat and episode coming late May
* Visited a BNI chapter in Auckland
* West Coast trip booked next week
* New category below for people looking for work "Job Hunters"
* Auckland trip, great combination of work, adventure, learning, networking, great food, space to think
What Have I learned:
More people! / "Company"
This for me was the BIG takeaway if I had to narrow down the DOAC event. Although lots of good content and concepts talked about. Including limiting beliefs which would be the second on the list of priorities and I guess ties into the more people idea.
Steven mentioned he spends around 80% of his week in recruitment mode. So finding the best talent, professional flirting which is a term I like and found funny.
Essentially his mindset is that if he can get the best possible "A" player talent for his businesses, it'll add value, free him up and allow him to grow and I guess continue recruiting more great people.
Now look, I get it. I hear the skeptics out there being what about cashflow and what about limiting resources. I get it. I totally do.
The way around this is applying creativity. Working with A Players in different capacities in now more common than ever. Contract roles, hourly, joint ventures, partnerships, sponsorships, the options are endless!
This one concept has energised me to do way more this year and to work on removing or at least reducing some of those limiting beliefs.
