November 19, 2024
Good Morning Everyone,
Well I missed last week, 2-3 massive days schedule wise. Positive pressure and honestly, just didn't prioritise it.
I think it's a good point about time and energy management that you do need to make calls on saying no to things and it's sometimes helpful to use extreme examples or a continuum to help with those decisions. Eg. I have the ability to meet Elon Musk or I've got to get my weekly personal newsletter out. Obvious choice (for me anyway).
I will continue with the weekly (mostly) or every second week now and again newsletter for the rest of 2024. For next year, we'll see. The ALT. newsletter will start at some point and although I've enjoyed the process of this email. I do question is value going forward.
We'll see, keen to hear your thoughts though...
David
Highlights from last week:

* Some great dinners out with new friends
* House sale confirmed!
* Podcast Season 3 production plan confirmed!
* 4 x more events before the end of the year, I have a free ticket to each, if you'd like one, message me. It's from someone who has opted to "pay it forward"
* Brad Fraser AI Workshop was awesome! Exceptional feedback, likely will do another one next year
* Gave blood, first time in a while, encourage you to get in there and do it, big fan of the experience
* Was a guest on the Pilgrim Cafe podcast, such a great time, thanks to the lads there for a great experience, click here to watch
What Have I learned:
Definition of Success
My Business Coach has been asking me this for most of the year. I haven't had a good answer... until now.
If you know me or if you've been reading these emails you'll probably know that I'm not affraid to experiment and to try new things.
I've gone through so many different types of accountability and tracking and measuring and will continue to do so.
Via my Monday Morning, Weekly Review Sessions I've noticed something that my mood / happiness is somewhat, not exclusively but somewhat dependant on the people I spend time with.
This has lead to some deeper thinking.
The quality and happiness and "Success" which is a highly subjective term. For me is largely based on who I'm spending time with. Quite simple typing it out but I think if you can aligned with your: Clients, work colleagues, partners, suppliers, friends, connections, audiences, community, people. Good things happen.
Where as if you're battling with people, you're not aligned and everything is forced, it'll likely lead to average days, which lead to average weeks which you guessed it, lead to average ness.
This is just one theory as of late November 2024 but for now. I'm going with it and trying to lean into it. Making a cut or two and making some subtle adjustments.
Don't get me wrong, money is still important and I am still working to make $10m in net wealth over the next 7.9 years but I think that money and material goods are a fairly distant second or third item on the list.
Agree? Disagree? Thoughts?
