Good Morning Everyone,

A day later than usual this week. A busy start to the week and recovering from the Auckland Half. What a race that was, loved the experience. Cheers to Elliot (Founder of the "Elliot List"), pictured below for the company.

Working in vs on the business this week. Continuing on from last week which was working on it. It does feel good having the separation of focuses, week on week off. Will continue trialling this.

Make it a great week and thanks for reading.

David

What Have I learned:

Working in the business

Last week I mentioned this system of a week on week off. One week working on the business eg vision, goals, 1% improvements, higher level tasks and then the second week of working in the business. Sales, business development, admin, day to day tasks.

Will it work and be a long term system to follow, not sure. I'm all about experimenting though. Anything to make the most out of the 16 hours available.

I think most of us want similar things:

* Satisfaction from work

* Money

* Happiness

* To be healthy

The latest realisation I've come across is that the quality of life is largely based on who you spend time with. Your co workers, your clients, your suppliers, your friends and potentially most importantly your significant other.

Recently it's come up in a few different coaching session the idea of "Was it a good day or not" the natural extension of this is, what makes a good day?

I think you somewhat answer this at the end of the day, if you had to choose good day or bad day.

The other interesting part of this is that when you zoom out a bit further and perhaps reflect on the previous day the next morning, how does your opinion change? On reflection and with a full overview of the day, perhaps it was good, you maybe just happened to have a challenging evening putting your kids to bed or maybe one thing caused a disruption.

I guess a satisfying life is made up of a collection of good days.

No punch line here, just something to think about and reflect on, are you generally having good days or not? If not, maybe it's time to make some changes and think about what could make them good days.
